APAC Members’ meeting

Our next APAC meeting will take place on Monday 25th September 2023 at 3-5pm via zoom. Speakers will include:

Niamh Kelly – Assistant Curator, Victoria and Albert Museum. Niamh will be sharing news on recent activity happening in the Theatre and Performance team and the wider V&A, including the exhibition DIVA, and provide information on accessing the collections and archives when V&A East opens in 2025.

Alan Butland – Secretary, Tyne Theatre and Opera House Preservation Trust. The Tyne Theatre received a National Lottery Heritage Grant which has enabled the theatre to: restore its heritage stage machinery; create an accessible record of all performances between the opening in 1867 and its conversion to the Stoll Picture Theatre in 1919; and run an International Conference about the project.

Jennifer Shufflebotham –  Creative Programme Manager, Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.  An update from Shakespeare Birthplace Trust sharing how the collections and spaces are being used in new ways to reach new audiences – from Mixing History and Wellness to Tongues in Trees. Find out more about the new multi-year project “The Women who Made Shakespeare” and what’s coming next for the Trust.
