APAC Symposium 2016: Call for Papers

APAC Symposium 2016 – Supporting Our Collections: The Value of Volunteers

The Association of Performing Arts Collections (APAC) is holding its second annual symposium on Monday 4 July at University of Bristol Theatre Collection. We will be looking at the role of volunteers in performing arts collections and want to hear about your projects:

  • Have you undertaken an ambitious volunteer project?
  • Have your volunteers worked on digitisation projects?
  • Have you worked with volunteers to engage the community?
  • What specialisms do your volunteers bring to your workforce?

This symposium will give us all the chance to reflect on our volunteer programmes, look at what is working and what is not, and where we could improve the experience for both sides. Volunteers or newly qualified professionals are also welcome to present. The travel expenses of speakers will be covered by APAC (within reason).

Proposal submissions: Papers will range from 5 to 20 minutes. Please submit an abstract of no more than 200 words along with an indication of the length of your talk to excom@performingartscollections.org.uk.

Proposals deadline: 5pm on 29 April 2016
